Read on for details on the ways our volunteers support our students
CISMBC is looking for individuals who would like to make a positive impact on the youth of our community by helping students in the public school system of Baldwin County during the school day. In our two primaries (k-2nd) and two academies (3rd – 5th), volunteers assist students with literacy skills. We will train you in the programs we use.
At the middle school (6th – 8th), volunteers primarily focus on helping students with math skills, from basic skills to pre-algebra. In Baldwin High School and at Georgia College/Early College, volunteers take a traditional tutoring role helping students with specific subjects.
If you are unable to commit to one hour a week, CISMBC also needs volunteers to help with the other programs and activities. Simply request to be placed on our special events list. You must also be at least 18 years old to be involved in a tutoring/mentoring option.
After attending a CISMBC orientation (~30 minutes) and agreeing to abide by CISMBCs policies, you can choose your volunteer option and schedule based on our needs and your availability.
