Communities In Schools of Milledgeville–Baldwin County (CISMBC) is a nonprofit that has been serving the students, schools, and community of Baldwin County for over 10 years.
Our mission is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.
CISMBC provides tutoring services, food, clothing, mentorship programs, reading workshops, and so much more. Alongside over 100 other Communities In Schools affiliates, CISMBC offers a variety of services to students and communities across the United States.
We have Site Coordinators in every Baldwin County School who work each school day to build relationships with students and their families. 27.3% of children under the age of 18 live in poverty in our community. Of the students attending Baldwin County Schools, 70% of them are living in poverty. Our Site Coordinators are helping to alleviate as many barriers as possible for these students to do well in the classroom, graduate from high school on time and to give them hope for the future.

Alongside many community partners, CISMBC is working in Baldwin County to provide opportunities for local students and adults to obtain the skills they need to lead rewarding and fulfilling lives. In turn, these individuals benefit the Baldwin County community as they fulfill their hopes and dreams and become successful and responsible in their roles as employees, parents, neighbors and citizens.
